Traffic delays anticipated for Route 611 South; may impact PMSD school bus runs
Thursday, August 26, 2010 (36 reads)

Notice to Parents:   We anticipate school buses traveling on Route 611 South from Swiftwater to Tannersville will experience delays on afternoon runs and will be running late in delivering children to their bus stops after school.  The Scotrun ramp for Interstate 80 E has been closed for the past two weeks for bridge construction and drivers heading south on Route 611 have experienced delays in the afternoon and evening since the ramp closure began.  This ramp closure may continue through September.   The PMSD transportation office is rerouting buses when possible; however, many of our buses cannot be rerouted around the area of Route 611 that is being impacted by this ramp closure.  We will do the best we can to keep our buses running on schedule, but we do anticipate delays especially in the afternoon elementary runs.  This situation will most likely affect PM East HS, PM East Junior HS, Swiftwater Intermediate School, Pocono Elementary Center, Swiftwater Elementary Center and the East Campus activity bus.
