PMSD East and West bands among bands competing at the upcoming Chapter 7 Band Championships
The Pocono Mountain Panther Music Boosters will host the Chapter 7 Marching Band Championships Sunday, Nov. 4 starting at 4 p.m. at the Pocono Mountain School District Stadium.
The Chapter 7 Championships is one of the 13 Chapter Championships or qualifying tournaments for the Tournament of Bands, Atlantic Coast Championships.
At the Chapter 7 Championships, both Pocono Mountain East and West bands will try to qualify for the ACC tournament at Delaware State University in Dover, Del., Nov. 10 and 11. The 13 Chapter Champions and the 12 bands with the next highest scores go on to the ACC.
Over the past 10 years, a band from Pocono Mountain School District has won their division (Group IV and Group II) seven times, has finished in second place once, and has finished fourth twice. Pocono Mountain has been a Chapter 7 Group Champion for 14 straight years.
Tickets to the Chapter 7 Marching Band Championships on Sunday are $8 for adults, and $6 for students (with valid student ID) and senior citizens (65+). For more information, visit their website at www.pmpmb.org. |
