Barrett Elementary Center will host the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Elementary Songfest 2008 in the Pocono Mountain East High School auditorium on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

More than 180 elementary students from nine school districts around the region will participate in Songfest 2008. 

Students from the following districts will participate in the Elementary Songfest 2008:

• Pocono Mountain School District
• Weatherly Area School District
• Blue Mountain School District
• Lehighton Area School District
• Dingman-Delaware School District
• Mahanoy Area School District
• Diocese of Allentown
• Northern Schuylkill School District
• Schuylkill Haven School District

Singers will practice songs throughout the day.  At 7 p.m. Saturday, students will perform a concert under the direction of guest conductor Ms. Jodi Rinehimer.  The concert is open to the public.  Tickets to the event are $2 for adults and $1 for students and senior citizens.
