Parents and families won’t want to miss the fourth annual Swiftwater Elementary Center Family Reading Night, Thursday, April 24, starting at 5:45 p.m.
Swiftwater Elementary teachers and administrators believe knowledge is power and want to provide an event where parents and children can be together in an educational environment and focus on improving abilities and attitudes toward reading.
Family Reading Night has many activities planned for students in grades kindergarten through sixth, and for their families to get everyone excited about reading.
The Family Reading Night schedule is as follows:
- 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Registration
- 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. – “The Brain Show” game show
- 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Small-Group Sessions where students and families will hear a short story and complete a small craft or activity
- 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Book Fair, Bake Sale, other activities
Every student will receive a snack, a change to win a prize, and a free book donated by the Parent Teacher Organization.
