District expands Property Tax Rebate program

The annual household eligibility limit for the Pocono Mountain School District Property Tax Rebate program has increased from $15,000 to $35,000, and maximum rebates increased from $500 to $650 for eligible property owners in Pocono Mountain School District.

Act 80 Semester Transition Day on Tuesday, Jan. 29

Tuesday, Jan. 29 is the end of semester transition day for all students in grades 9 to 12. This means no school for students at Pocono Mountain East High School, Pocono Mountain West High School, Pocono Mountain Academy, and those attending Pocono Mountain West Junior High School, including the 8th graders at West Junior High. This Act 80 day was originally scheduled for Jan. 24, but was moved due weather-related school closings that slipped the end of semester by three days.

Special Notice: PMSD revises Nondiscrimination Policy Number 103

Special Notice: The Pocono Mountain School District has recently revised its "Nondiscrimination Policy" number 103 which includes concerns related to students who are identified as disabled under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This revised policy may be found on the Pocono Mountain School District web site (www.pmsd.org), select About Our District, then District Policy Manual from the left dropdown menu. In addition, a hard copy of this policy can be mailed to you at your request by contacting Mrs. Betsy Gustafson, Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, at 570-839-7121 extension 10181.
