| Students at Coolbaugh Elementary Center have the opportunity to participate in the Elementary Summer Reading and Math Program. As part of the Governor’s Tutorial Initiative, school district employees work with small groups of qualifying students to improve reading and math skills. Students receive twenty-four sessions of instruction at no cost. Bus transportation to and from CEC is provided.
The Elementary Summer Reading and Math Program is a five-week program that is held approximately from the end of June until the end of July. Each instructional day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is divided into two sessions, a math session and a reading session.
Parents are asked to make a serious commitment to the program before registering their children. If students consistently attend their scheduled sessions they can progress in their reading and math skills.
The success of the program can be attributed to parents, administrators, transportation and the faculty and staff of Coolbaugh Elementary & Learning Centers, all contribute the time and effort needed to allow students to take advantage of this opportunity. We are looking forward to working with all eligible students in the summer of 2008.
Those students who are NOT eligible for the summer program can take advantage of other summer clubs which are available. If your child is invited to the summer school reading & math program they aren't allowed to participate in the Summer Clubs Program. |
