Principals Message

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the Clear Run Elementary Center (CREC) web page.  CREC has approximately 800 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Over 100 teachers and support staff work together to bring the best education possible to our students.  CREC's character education program encourages students to develop positive attitudes and behaviors. This site contains detailed information about that program.  Please visit the site to understand how it works and encourage your children to participate.  Character Site.

Several programs have been implemented to provide our students with research-based strategies and techniques to improve educational progress.  Our K-3 teachers participated in the Reading First state initiative that provided ongoing training in the best reading practices. In addition, many of those teachers were also trained in a research-based assessment process to further identify student strengths and needs in reading.  This, coupled with quality materials, makes our reading program very effective.  In addition, all students in first through sixth grade have the opportunity to participate in intensive instruction to improve reading and math skills. All of these programs are the result of a dedicated group of professionals working together to make CREC the best it can be. Our CREC parents complete the team of hard working folks.  Our PTO is actively involved in numerous activities throughout the year and provides financial support for assemblies and special activities. We encourage all parents to come and be a part of their child's education because together we can "prepare all students for tomorrow's challenges and opportunities".

Finally, I hope you enjoy your visit to our web site and encourage you to contact me if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Regina K. Schank
