Our Fifth and Sixth Grade Spring Band Concert will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pocono Elementary Center multi-purpose room. I would like all members to report by 7:15 p.m. We hope to see you there!
Attention all fifth and sixth grade chorus and band students! Please turn in your band/chorus forms to Mrs. Austin or Mrs. Kresge by Friday, May 2nd. We invite all current as well as new members to join!
Mrs. Kresge will be passing out forms on May 16 to interested fourth grade students who would like to join the fifth grade band for the 2008-2009 school year. All are welcome to join!
This should be a fun year in band. Please contact Mrs. Kresge if your child would like to join. In order for anyone to be successful playing a musical instrument, practice is essential. Once your child has picked a practice time, they should stick to it. Pretty soon, this will become routine, and hopefully, you may not have to remind them to practice. Everyone needs to be rewarded for their efforts, especially young students. Any compliment will encourage a student to continue to play an instrument. Enthusiasm is very contagious.

Band lessons will begin on Thursday, September 6. The sixth grade band (large ensemble) will meet every DAY 1 at 2:40. Fifth graders will begin large ensemble rehearsal in January. Fifth grade players only need to come to small group lessons at this time.
