SEC 4th Grade Chorus:

The 4th grade chorus is directed by Mrs. Paul.  This year we have approximately 120 students enrolled.  We will be performing 2 concerts for the student body and parents.  The first will consist of winter and holiday selections on December 18th at 7pm.  The second will feature an assortment of musical selections on May 15th, at 7pm.  To prepare for these performances the students meet one day per cycle for a rehearsal.

SEC Fifth Grade Chorus/ Ensemble/ Sixth Grade Chorus:

The SEC Fifth Grade Chorus, Sixth Grade Chorus, and Fifth and Sixth Grade Choral Ensemble have been rehearsing since the second cycle of the 2007-2008 school year.

The Fifth Graders rehearse on DAY 2 of our cycle and have been practicing a program called “December Pictures” by Greg Gilpin.  Our Sixth Graders rehearse on DAY 3 of our cycle and have been working on a fun play entitled “Snow Biz”.  There are many interesting characters and some pretty jazzy songs in this show. The Choral Ensemble meets on DAY 4 of our cycle and has been rehearsing a nice repertoire of winter music.

Proper posture, proper singing technique, proper diction, following a vocal score, and singing independently, alone, and as part of a 2 or 3 part harmony are some of the concepts being addressed in rehearsals.

The SEC Fifth Grade Chorus, Sixth Grade Chorus, and Fifth and Sixth Grade Choral Ensemble are directed by Joyce Brooks.

December 13 2007, Thursday, 7:00 pm for the FIFTH GRADE CHORUS& ENSEMBLE  

 December 18, 2007, Tuesday, 7:00 pm for the SIXTH GRADE CHORUS
