Brainisium

When: Mondays and Fridays after school until 5:30. Students will ride the 5:30 activity bus home.

 

It’s a homework club/activity club, and an opportunity to make our great school look even better.

 

Bowling Club

Advisor: Barb Parzych

Where: Summit Lanes 3 Park Dr.

East Pocono Summit

The Bowling Club usually starts in October and runs through January or February.  Students learn team work and cooperation in addition to improving their bowling skills.  They learn appropriate rules for bowling and good sportsmanship.  No equipment is required for this club.  There is a fee per student per night charged by Summit Lanes for the use of their facilities.

Caring for Pets Club

Advisor: Mrs. Dempsey, RN, Certified School Nurse

When: Mondays and Thursdays 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. from March 22, 2007 until May 31, 2007. Students will take the 5:30pm Activity Bus home.

- We may have some activities on a Saturday or Sunday.

- Basic pet care and training techniques

- Fun things to do with your pet.

- Representatives from local shelters/rescues will come and explain about their organization.

- Fund raisers to help local shelters/rescues

Chess Club

Advisor: Prudence Percoco

Where: Cafeteria (Window Side)

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30. Students will take the 5:30 activity bus.

The goal of chess club is to play matches in order to improve chess skills.

Computer Club

Advisor: Tom Eisler

When: Tuesdays after school from October to March. Students will take the 5:30 p.m. activity bus.

- Independent projects

- Internet & research skills

- Multimedia presentations

Drama Club

Advisor: Jeralyn Aragona

This Year’s Show: Bugsy Malone, a musical

- Auditions for the production are Monday, December 17th and Tuesday, December 18th.  Plan to attend ONE of the two audition days.  Call-backs (for lead roles) will be held Wednesday, December 19th.  All auditions are after school until 5:30.  Students may ride the 5:30 activity bus home. (See flyer for full audition requirements)

- Rehearsals will be held after school from January to April. A rehearsal schedule will be provided for you in January.

- ALL PERFORMERS MUST ATTEND THE FINAL PRODUCTION: Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th.

Envirothon/Ecology Club

Advisor: Cathy Golomb

When: Thursdays, starting October 11th

Students take the 5 p.m. activity bus.

Games Club

Advisors: Sandy Miller and Vickann Chombock

We meet Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the library

Fun, Fun, Fun!!

-Learn new game skills

-Club open to 30 students only

-Students will take the 5:00 p.m. activity bus home

-Members may bring (school appropriate) video games on the days of club.

-Games Club will begin the week of October 14th and run through January

Jazz Band

Advisor: Scott Kettering

Jazz Band is an after school program open to all students who are enrolled in the CRIS Instrumental Music Program.

When: Begins on January 10, 2008. The Jazz Band will meet on Thursdays until 5:00 p.m. Students can be picked up at school or ride the 5:00 p.m. activity bus.

Junior Academy of Science

Advisor: Cathy Golomb

When: Wednesdays

Students take the 5 p.m. activity bus.

Competition: End of February or beginning of March. The regional competition is always on a Saturday. Information will be sent to out in February.

Library Club

Advisor: Heather Adelstein

When: Meetings begin on October 8, 2007

Musical Set and Design Club & Musical Stage Crew

Advisor: Mrs.Miele-Beatty

Location: CRIS G109

 

- Sign-ups will be in December and the club will run until mid April. 

- Students will create stage props and sets for this year's drama production. They will also learn the background duties of putting on a theatrical production. 

- Applications to join MSDC will be available on the club bulletin board and outside of G109 starting on 12/7/2007 and will be due by 12/19/2007.  The MSDC will meet after-school until 5:30, students will be able to take the 5:30 activity busses home. (See flyer for full audition requirements). Stage Crew members MUST ATTEND THE FINAL PRODUCTIONS: Friday, April 18th and Saturday, April 19th.

Newspaper Club

The Newspaper Club publishes the Clear Run Chronicle four times during the school year.

PMTV Live

Advisor: Heather Adelstein

This club meets each day during homeroom to prepare and broadcast the morning announcements.

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)

- Advisors: Joanne Soupik & Colleen Witzke

- Meet one day a week beginning the first week in December (Wednesdays or Tuesdays, dates to be announced)

- In this club, students will discuss a variety of age appropriate decisions. Tobacco, drugs, alcohol, bullying, peer pressure and other topics. We will have group discussions, projects, plan school wide events, and play a variety of fun activities, such as games and trips, etc.

Ski Club

Advisor: Scott Kettering

Where: Cambelback Mountain

When: January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13

All 6th and 7th grade students who are interested in trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time and those who want to continue the sport are welcome to join.

Speedstacks Club

Advisor: Ms. E. Stachnik

When: Wednesdays after school

This club is open to new members all year long!

Spirit Club

- Advisors: Prudence Percoco & Joanne Soupik

- Meet one time before basketball season and one time after - then attend every home basketball game (see basketball schedule). Students ride 5:30 p.m.activity bus home.

- In this club, students will show their school spirit by making a commitment to attend every home basketball game during the season. Students will make banners and signs. They will show our basketball players that they have our support.

Yearbook

Advisors: Angie Bailor & Rhonda Eschbach

Yearbooks are 100 pages with a hardback cover. Yearbooks include each team, clubs, activities, and sports pictures. All yearbooks are distributed in school at the very end of the school year.

Zero Hour Fitness Club

- Advisors: Joanne Soupik & Alton Armoogram - Meet everyday at 6:45 a.m. - Parents must provide transportation to school.

- Every day we warm up and stretch. We work out in the fitness center. We play a variety of games working on team building, fitness and fun. The students should begin to recognize the benefits of early morning fitness, including increased energy and alertness, improved fitness levels in all areas, and an improvement in academic progress.
