East High School

The Swiftwater Campus is home to the Cardinals of Pocono Mountain East High School.  We currently have 1890 students enrolled in our educational programs. Pocono Mountain East High School is located in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania and currently houses students in grades nine through twelve.  Our school is joined on campus by Swiftwater Intermediate School and Swiftwater Elementary Center.

East High School offers a comprehensive curriculum and provides quality learning experiences in the “core four”:  English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.  Additionally, a myriad of curricular opportunities are provided for the exploration and study of the visual and performing arts, technological applications, business education, family and consumer sciences, health and wellness, and foreign languages. Participation in co-curricular activities such as clubs and interscholastic sports is strongly encouraged.

Today is day 3

 

ALL-SPORTS BANQUET

Reminder to all athletes – The All-Sports Banquet will be held on Sunday, May 18th at 3:00 in the cafeteria. Deadline for tickets is today. Tickets can be picked up in the Athletic Office.

 

BLOOD DRIVE

The Blood Drive set for this Friday has been postponed until Friday, May 30th. Sign ups for the Blood Drive will begin on Tuesday, May 27th.

 

SGA

Interested in getting involved or organize important school events? If so, then SGA is for you! Anyone interested in being a part of SGA can pick up an application from the SGA bulletin board. Applications must be returned to Mr. Jones or Mrs. Mizenko by Friday, May 30th. Election speeches will be recorded on Monday, June 2nd and Tuesday, June 3rd, and will air Thursday, June 5th. Voting will take place on Friday, June 6th.

 

MCTI ANNOUNCEMENTS

-         Today will be the last day for the public to visit the Clinic.

-         There will be a senior assembly today and Thursday, May 15th at 8:15 and 12:00 in the cafeteria. Two tickets per student will be made available as well as the opportunity to sign a list to receive additional tickets. Procedures and dress will also be discussed. An announcement will be made to dismiss students to the cafeteria at those times.

-         If students owe money to the cafeteria through the “Point of Sale” lunch program, you need to pay in full as soon as possible. There will be NO charging from now on.

VARSITY PM CLUB

Attention all Varsity PM Club members: There will be a Varsity PM Club Meeting this Thursday, May 15th at 1:30 in the Auditorium. The election of officers for next year will take place. As always, you are required to get a pass from the athletic office prior to the meeting.

 

PROM DVDS

Any student that purchased Prom tickets may pick up their Prom DVD during third period in the SGA office on Thursday this week.

 

YEARBOOK DISTRBUTION PARTY

The yearbook distribution party will be Monday, June 9th from 2:35-4:15. All grades are recommended to come. There will be food and entertainment. You can get your yearbook early. Tickets will be on sale for $3.00 June 2nd – June 6th outside the cafeteria during all lunches. Extra books will be available for $85.00 cash or check. 4:30 bus passes will be available for all who attend.

 

SENIOR CLASS PICNIC

Attention: All seniors interested in attending the Senior Picnic on Thursday, May 22nd must have the following qualifications:

-         Less than 10 unexcused absences… If you received and met with Mr. Vlasaty regarding your attendance and credit denial you are NOT eligible.

-         Passing ALL classes… If you are failing any classes you are not eligible.

-         Scored Proficient in the PSSA or Pathways…If you are in Pathways, then you are not eligible.

The deadline for signing up for the Senior Picnic is this Friday, May 16th.

 

DANCE TEAM

Attention All Students: In coordination with the East High School Band and Color Guard team, a competitive dance team is being formed for the 2008-2009 season. We are looking for dancers well-trained in jazz, hip-hop and pom. There will be an informational meeting for all those interested today in the band room. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Eick or Ms. Deery.

 

SADD

Attention SADD members: Our next SADD meeting will be today from 3:00-4:15 in room S206. This will be one of our last meetings for the year…Bring ideas for next year’s activities.

 

CAP AND GOWN PICK UPS

Graduating Seniors: If you ordered a Cap and Gown from Jostens, they will be available for pick up during all lunches today and Friday, May 16th in the SGA office.
