SENIOR PLATO TUTORING
Senior Plato Tutoring is a new program that links proficient performance on the PSSA tests to graduation. Students scoring below proficient in Math, Reading, or both will be notified prior to the start of school. These students will have the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency on specified anchors by completing a school-based assessment after school hours. Multiple opportunities will exist to “test proficient” prior to the conclusion of the senior year. If a student does not earn a proficient rating, then he/she will not be permitted to graduate.

TUTORING
Students with permission from administration may be tutored by a state certified teacher who is certified to teach the needed course. If the student had never taken the course, 45 hours of tutoring are needed. If the student failed the course and needs to remediate, 36 hours of tutoring are needed. However, to receive credit, the student must pass a departmental final exam to pass the course. The student is responsible for the cost of this type of instruction.
