• The concert choir comprises students in grades 10-12. They perform at 3 concerts throughout the school year: the Winter Concert, the Prism Concert, and the Spring Concert. They sing music in a variety of styles and levels of difficulty, and work hard to incorporate the highest levels of musicianship into their daily practice and performances.

• The 9th Grade Chorus provides a good transition to the high school for our youngest singers. Working in a smaller group provides the opportunity for in-depth theory study, vocal technique, and a year-long introduction into the high school chorus.

• The keyboard lab at PMEHS has been used primarily as a beginning piano class. Starting in the 2007 school year, we will be integrating computer technology into the lab, with the addition of 8 laptop computers. These computers will be used for various music software programs, such as Aurelia, Musition, and Finale, where students will be able to practice ear training, study music theory, and compose and arrange music.
  
  We will also be integrating web 2.0 technology to our keyboard lab. Students in keyboard lab will be posting blogs and doing internet research to add to our class wiki, searching for and creating videos and podcasts on a variety of topics related to piano playing and music.

• The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a highly select group of singers who must be a member of the Concert Choir as well. The VJE meets after school for only 2 hours a week, and must have a strong committment to the group. They perform at the three major concerts during the school year, but also have various extracurricular performances as well.
  
  On May 12, 2007, the PMEHS VJE traveled to Kutztown Area High School and Dorney Park, where they participated in Music in the Parks. They performed three songs: September, God Only Knows, and Voice Dance II. They won first place in the vocal jazz division and also took home the award for Best Overall High School Choir.
  
  Auditions for the 2007-2008 Vocal Jazz Ensemble will be held Monday, September 17 after school. Singers should be prepared to sing a solo and demonstrate basic sightreading skills.

• Each year, the drama, art, technology and music departments combine to put on the annual spring musical. It is open to all students in the high school.
