Principal's Message

Dear Swiftwater Intermediate School Families,

We hope that you have enjoyed the summer break and are refreshed for the new school year.  The past few months have been very busy on the East Campus as school buildings have been reconfigured.  Swiftwater Intermediate School (formerly; Swiftwater Elementary Center) has under gone a building renovation to meet the needs of our intermediate school students.  Safety is our first concern and we have included security systems on our doors and cameras throughout our building.  Our staff is working very hard to prepare for the opening of school for students on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

Our main goal is to be fully prepared for the first day of school for students; therefore we will not be hosting an additional parent/student orientation prior to the opening of school.  Our spring orientation was well attended and much pertinent information was shared at that event.  Enclosed you will find your child’s homeroom information.  Students will receive their schedules on the first day of school in homerooms.

Additionally, the East Campus will now follow the three tier bus system.  Students will be released from their bus in the morning at 8:00 a.m. and homeroom begins promptly at 8:10 a.m.  Student dismissal will be at 3:17 p.m.  Activity buses will run at 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Please welcome Mr. Brian Williams who will be our Assistant Principal at Swiftwater Intermediate School.  He makes an excellent addition to our already outstanding staff.  We look forward to meeting you at Open House events being held on Monday, September 22nd for 6th grade students and Tuesday, September 23rd for 7th grade students starting at 6:00 p.m.

Lastly, please review all information that is sent home with students on the first day of school.  Students are required to utilize their agenda planners daily and included are all district policy and building procedures.

As always, please remember that “communication is key” and do not hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns.  We look forward to a successful school year for our upcoming 6th and 7th grade students.

            Sincerely,
