 Although your child is now in Intermediate school, you may think that they can independently take care of getting all their school work complete.  However, many kids still need help organizing and planning.  They still need their parents involved.

· Help your student set up a homework routine.  Studying at the same place at the same time every day makes a habit.

· Ensure that your child has all the necessary supplies to be prepared for class including notebooks, binders, paper, and a silent reading book for each class.  This designated information is sent to you in the Team letter the first day of school.  All students need a binder for math class.

· If your child is disorganized, have them bring home all of their school materials on a regular basis and teach them to sort through them and reorganize themselves.  It is important that you do not do this for your child, rather allow them to learn how to do this.  You can oversee them at first, but let them physically do the work.

· Monitor your child’s completion of filling out their agenda planner with their homework assignments by reviewing it with them at night.  Students who complete this every day have better grades than students who do not write in this information.
