Welcome to the on-line portal for Pocono Mountain East High School, located in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania.  East High School has an enrollment of 1450 students in grades 9-12 and our building, constructed in 1993, provides excellent facilities for our students, staff, and the community.  We are proud of our students' efforts in academics, co-curricular activities, athletics and the arts.
 
We are currently in the process of migrating to a new web design and will be adding to and expanding the information on our site throughout the year. If there is something you can't find, please let us know.

  • Pocono Mountain East Jazz Festival

    On Friday, April 29th, Pocono Mountain East High School proudly presents the Pocono Mountain East Jazz Festival, with guest adjudicators Dr. Neil Wetzel and Mr. Paul Rostock. Eleven area schools will participate in this spectacular afternoon event, with the first band to perform shortly after 4:30 pm. Admission to the festival at the door is five dollars for adults, three dollars for senior citizens and students with ID. Children ten and under are free. Come and go as you please, come for a little or stay for a lot. For questions feel free to call the Pocono Mountain East High School band office at 570-839-7121 extension 80535. Please come and join us for an afternoon of jazz at the Pocono Mountain East Jazz festival on April 29th.

  • East Athletes Garner Soccer Players of the Year Honors

    Congratulations go out to Sophomore Taylor Caridi and Junior Doug Goitia on being named Soccer Players of the Year by the Pocono Record. Taylor was a key player on the Girl's EPC Mountain Division Championship Team and Doug led the boys team to a similar title. Well done and thank you for representing us so well.

  • Monroe-Pike County Chorus Festival

    Over 120 students representing eight high schools in Monroe and Pike Counties gathered at Pocono Mountain East High School on Tuesday, November 15, 2015 for the 26th Annual Monroe-Pike County Chorus Festival. Students arrived in the early morning, rehearsed under the direction of Dr. Hank Alviani of Kutztown University, and then provided an evening performance for the public. Pocono Mountain East High School was honored to have such a wonderful collection of talent on site and wishes all the performers the best.

  • Davalos Goes To States

    Cross-country runner Rachael Davalos, a senior, placed 4th in the District XI meet and qualified for her fourth consecutive State tournament that was held Saturday morning, November 6. Rachael finished with a personal best 35th place out of over 200 runners. Congratulations, Rachael.

  • Assembly Thank-You

    Thank you to Mr. Michael Rakaczewski, Monroe County Assistant District Attorney, for his informative presentation on the social and legal implications resulting from "Sexting." Making the right decisions is often difficult to do and the information presented answered many questions. Also, thank you to Ofc. Apgar for making this assembly possible.

  • Rinker Makes Girls Nation

    Congratulations to East High School Senior Arminda Rinker who reported back from her trip as a Girls Nation Senator. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Arminda attended Keystone Girls State at Shippensburg University this summer and then competed for one of two positions to Girls Nation in Washington, D.C. Arminda was chosen from many candidates and during her time in Washington, D.C. she met Senator Pat Toomey, Congressman Tim Murphy and visited the Senate floor and heard a speech from Senator Harry Reid. In addition to visiting the many buildings and symbols of our country, she also personally met and shook hands with President Barack Obama and had her photo taken with him and the group. “Mindy” encourages every female underclassmen to get involved in the programs the American Legion Auxiliary has to offer.

  • NYU Cybersecurity Event

    Congratulations and recognition to East High School seniors Gus Naughton and Anna Kelly who recently placed 1st in the Northeastern US Region and 2nd Internationally in the preliminary round of the NYU cybersecurity conference and competition in which over 600 teams of 1-3 students competed.
