Welcome to Team 7 Blue at Swiftwater Intermediate School! We are very excited about the start of this new year, and we would like to share some information which will help insure success in seventh grade.
7 Blue Team Rules · Be respectful - Avoid name calling; follow classroom rules and instructions. · Be on time - Travel directly between classes without delays; plan to avoid extra locker visits. · Be prepared - Bring necessary books, notebooks, pens and pencils, and homework to class. Plan ahead when visiting your locker. · Be an active learner - Maintain an organized notebook for each class; do all assignments on time; participate in class.
Following these rules will help every Team 7 Blue student have a successful seventh grade year!
Responsibility · Accepting responsibility for one’s actions is an important life skill, and we will be spending time this year discussing how we can take responsibility in school, in our community, and in our world. · Each student must be responsible for getting the most out of his or her educational experience and should not negatively affect any other student’s education. Students who demonstrate poor judgment in their behavior may be denied special privileges such as dances, team events, and field trips. Home/School CommunicationOpen lines of communication between school and home contribute to a better learning environment for our students. To this end, we utilize several procedures: · Daily agendas - One important student responsibility is to write the class agenda and any homework assignment in his or her agenda/planner daily for every team class. · Parents are encouraged to frequently check their child’s academic standing via the Pentamation Home Access Center. (Access information coming soon.) · Parents may communicate with teachers by email. Please limit email communications to brief, student-related messages. · Parents may communicate with teachers by writing in their child’s planner. Teachers will initial the note when they read it. · Parent/teacher conferences may be scheduled by calling the guidance office at 839-7121 ext. 60460. · Team Website - We will list any pertinent team information. To access the team website go to: http://www.pmsd.org/teamsiteftp/team7blue/
Team Activities · Throughout the year we will be holding various team incentives and activities. Participation in these evens is often based on good behavior and up-to-date academics.
We are looking forward to a challenging and fulfilling school year. We are confident that if all students, parents, and teachers work together, we will have the best school year ever! |
