Daily Events: January 18

** East High School will be closed from Saturday, January 19 @ 11:00 P.M. to Monday, January 21 @ 1:00 P.M. due to the impending weather and anticipated, necessary clean-up **

 

Athletics:

 

Spring Physicals:  Spring physicals will be held on Tuesday, February 12 in the East Jr. High School after school. All PIAA paperwork must be filled out, along with the HIPPA form and Family ID. Paperwork can be picked up in the athletic office. You will not be allowed to try out for your sport unless your forms are completed.

 

Boys' Tennis: There will be a pre-season meeting after school on Thursday, January 17 in Room 221 for new and returning players.

 

Guidance:

 

Seniors: We have scholarships available in the Guidance office including:

  • Big Apple Beauty Supply - $500. Deadline is January 31.
  • Beth Moloughney Scholarship - $250.
  • Society of Women Engineers Lehigh Valley - $5,000. Deadline is February 10.
  • Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship - $1,000. Deadline is February 15.
  • Zach Hadlock Memorial Wrestling Scholarship.
  • West End Fair Scholarship - $1,000.

Poetry Out Loud: Congratulations to Senior Gabby Grinaway for her third-place win at the regional Poetry Out Loud Competition!  

 

SAT Prep Tutoring: There will be no class on Saturday, January 19. 

 

Sadie Hawkins Dance: Team EPIC is hosting a Sadie Hawkin's Dance on Saturday, February 9! Pick up a packet next week, January 22-25. Tickets will be on sale January 28 through February 1 only and permission slips must be signed in order to purchase a ticket. Send us your Sadie's proposals to see who wins best proposal! 

 

Spanish Honor Society: Any current Spanish Honor Society member interested in running for office, please see Mrs. Romspert in H200 for an application. Applications are due today!

   

Musical Wardrobe & Makeup: Please see Ms. Bresser in the library if you are interested in assisting with Wardrobe and Makeup for the musical Pippin.

   

Peer Tutoring: Do you find yourself struggling in a classroom environment? Do find it easier to learn from a friend than a teacher? Why not consider peer tutoring? With peer tutoring, you and a fellow student will work one-on-one on any subject you need help with. From science to Spanish, peer tutoring helps you get that grade you deserve!
