East High School’s Reading Competition Team organized a school-wide book giveaway. The 53 members of the Reading Competition Team participated in fundraising activities  to purchase over 1,500 books to share with their fellow students. This event is the team's first service project for our school community in an attempt to encourage reading. The event occurred over the three days before the winter break. Classes of approximately 25 to 30 students came through our 'bookstore' every 10 minutes. Every student received a ticket to exchange for a book.  Thank you to Beth Bresser, EHS Librarian and Reading Competition Advisor for organizing this wonderful event for our East High School students.
