Shoshanna Butler-Charles (WHS Junior) is the two-time local winner of the VFW's Voices of Democracy Audio Essay. This year's theme was "Why is the Veteran Important?" Shoshanna was invited by the VFW to speak at their Veterans Day event this year, and her essay submission will go on to the next round of the competition. The national first place winner will receive a $30,000 scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.
