Morning Announcements for 12/2/20

Good Morning WJHS! Here are your announcements for Wednesday, December 2nd Day 5 of the 6 day cycle.  


SGA is having another contest!  For December, WJHS is having a “Nailed It” contest where you have to recreate a melted snowman cookie!  Check the WJHS website for all the info on contest rules! 


Congratulations to our first Weekly Attendance winners:  Nevaeh Ortiz and Allison Bristol!


Hey WJHS Students!  Do YOU want to win a $10 dollar gift card?  How about a $20 dollar card?  A $50 dollar card?!?!  What if you had the chance to win a pair of Apple Airpods?  Well, you can!  Just attend school each day or answer the attendance question daily on time to be entered!  IT’S THAT EASY!


Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for basketball must have a complete sports physical and be registered on Family ID.  Tryouts continue tomorrow, Thursday 12/3 from 5pm-7pm at WJHS.  You may pick up a sports physical form in the main office or print it off of our PMSD website. You may also email Coach Roberts at with any questions.


Project Purple will be meeting online at 2:40 today, Wed. DEC 2ND.  Please email Mrs. Phillips-Kline at or Mrs.Troiano at dtroiano@ if you'd like to join our club.


Attention all chorus and band students! Please stop by the band or chorus room to receive your FREE Pocono Mt West Music t-shirt! The t-shirts are to be worn while recording your video for the virtual concert!


Do you feel like you are a person who is always there for others? Are you open to talking to others to make them feel better? Would you like to help others or get help with raising awareness for suicide? If so, Aevidum is the club for you. No matter how busy you are, you are still welcomed to be a part of our club. We can all contribute to the club in different ways. We’ve Got Your Back!  Email Mrs. Hoffman at  or Mrs. Cerrone at for more information on joining the club. We will run the club on Wednesdays through the Aevidum google classroom.


Any WJHS student interested in joining the wrestling team should fill out the survey form from Coach Legg in B252.


Any student who would like to give a birthday shout out to someone, please go to the WJHS website, and look under SCHOOL NEWS! 


The library is open all day, including during homeroom and lunch periods for students to work, use computers, read or study.  Come and check out all the library has to offer you! 


WJHS has a Virtual Tutoring program!  If you are interested, please go to the WJHS webpage for info and how to sign up!


WJHS is selling Panther Wear!  Crewneck sweatshirts are being sold for ONLY $10!  See your teacher for info or go to the WJHS website!!!


WJHS students are reminded that ALL students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch due to the pandemic. 


Did you know that the library has hundreds of digital books for you to read?  Go to the WJHS webpage and look under “Library” or see Mr. Burney in the library with any questions!

Students are reminded to follow protocols to prevent the spread of germs.  Please remember to wash your hands often, keeping coughs and sneezes to yourself and not to touch your eyes or mouth!  Masks must remain on, except for lunch. 


Students!  School dress code MUST be followed by all students!  Please make sure you are in compliance with our dress code each day before you leave for the bus!  You are NOT PERMITTED to wear hoodies in school!


Students are also reminded that when you enter the building in the morning you MUST remove your hats, hoods, earbuds or earphones.  Your phones should be turned off and put away for the remainder of the day.
