The Swiftwater Campus is home to the Cardinals of Pocono Mountain East High School. We currently have 1325 students enrolled in our educational programs. Pocono Mountain East High School is located in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania, and currently houses students in grades ten through twelve. Our school is joined on campus by Pocono Mountain East Junior High School and Swiftwater Intermediate School. East High School offers a comprehensive curriculum and provides quality learning experiences in the “core four”: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Additionally, a myriad of curricular opportunities are provided for the exploration and study of the visual and performing arts, technological applications, business education, family and consumer sciences, health and wellness, and foreign languages. Participation in co-curricular activities such as clubs and interscholastic sports is strongly encouraged. | |

| Calendar Change - Saturday, December 19, 2009The 8th Annual Prism concert held at East High School Holiday has been rescheduled to February 19, 2010.

In honor of FCCLA week and to help promote Winter Wonderland FCCLA is sponsoring a Wacky Week of Winter, February 8th – February 12th.
- Muffler Monday – a muffler is just another word for scarf
- Turtleneck Tuesday
- Wooly Wednesday – wear your favorite wool sweater or pants.
- Thermal Thursday – wear your favorite thermal top only!
- Flannel Friday
SWEETHEART PICTURES
The SWEETHEART PICTURES schedules for today have been postponed. We will resume tomorrow during all lunches.
MOCK CRASH
MOCK CRASH actors and SADD EXECUTIVES: The first rehearsal is today after school from 2:45-4:45. Attendance is required by everyone!
LITERARY MAGAZINE
- Attention all: The Lit. Mag. is still accepting submissions of student poetry, prose and art. Artists and photographers, we still need a cover, get your submission in! Email your work to Mrs. Petersen or stop by 233 with questions.
- Attention Lit. Mag.: We will meet Tuesday, after school in room 233. As always, new members are welcome.
GREEN CLUB
The GREEN CLUB will meet this week on Thursday after school in room 221. Please see Mrs. Bisignani if you cannot attend.
PJAS
Attention all PJAS participants: Pick up the information packet for the regional meeting in room 117 or 221 ASAP. This packet contains information for parents and the payment forms for dinner guests at Genettis.
DRAMA CLUB
Attention Drama Club with Mrs. Mascia: We will be meeting after school today until 4:30. See Mrs. Mascia in room H104 for copies of the scripts and show date information if you are unable to stay for practice.
SCOLARSHIPS
- Pocono Mountain East Cardinal Music Boosters: One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted to college as a music major. You must also be of good character, participate in extra-curricular activities and you must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.0 in your first semester of college. If this is you, please apply! Applications are available in Guidance.
- Pocono Mountain Penn State Club: If you will be attending Penn State in the fall and plan on being involved in extracurricular activities on campus, you may be eligible. Applications are available in Guidance.

Recurring Announcements
WINTER WONDERLAND
On Saturday, February 13th, from 1-3 pm FCCLA is sponsoring a fundraiser/educational program for the Women’s Resource of Monroe County. Students pay $1 with their ID. There will be games, informational sessions, an impaired driving obstacle course and much more so please come out and support the Women’s Resources.
GIRL’S SOFTBALL
After school workouts will now be changed to Mondays and Wednesdays until 4:45 starting today. Just a reminder, the evening workouts will continue on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 pm, in the Auxiliary Gym. See Coach Johnson with questions.
JEANS FOR TEENS
Today through Friday, February 12th, FCCLA will be sponsoring the second annual Jeans for Homeless Teens. Jeans can be dropped off outside Mrs. Hartman’s room until February 12th. The first 100,000 pairs collected are going straight to Haiti children.
VOLUNTEERS FOR UNDERSTANDING
The Volunteers for Understanding will meet after school on Thursday the 11th. There is a sign-up sheet outside of room 137. We must have 15 signatures by Tuesday the 9th or the meeting will be postponed. You will be bringing Eastern European foods to share with the group for this meeting. New members are always welcome to bring food and have a great time.
SADD
The next General SADD meeting will be Wednesday, February 10th in room 206 from 2:35-4:45.
ANIME CLUB
Anime Club will be meeting next week Wednesday, February 10th from 2:35 until 4:30. Please see Mrs. Rinkevich if you have any questions.
