Pocono Mountain National Art Society students will be onsite at the new Pocono Heritage Center in Mountain View Park on Thursday, October 13, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to work side-by-side with local contractor Joe Wright to create a one-of-a-kind wall design containing dozens of hand-painted bricks featuring historical images of Pocono Township.
Highly-talented artists from Pocono Mountain School District’s National Art Honor Societies of both the PM East and PM West High Schools, under the guidance of their art teachers Ms. Lisa Collier, Mr. Garrett James and Mrs. Kristen Miele-Beatty, partnered with the Pocono Township Bicentennial committee to create the unique bricks highlighting many historical landmarks in the township.
A small group of the student artists will be present on October 13 to work with Mr. Wright, who has been contracted by the Pocono Heritage Foundation, Inc., for the brick and tile installation at the center.
The completed project will be unveiled to the public as part of the ribbon cutting of the Pocono Heritage Center on November 20, 2016, in celebration of the Township's Bicentennial.
