Chorus
Chorus is an elective course that is offered to all students in 4th, 5th, and 6thgrade. Chorus members attend one rehearsal per six-day cycle, for 20 minutes once a cycle for 5th and 6th grades and 20 minutes twice a cycle for 4th grade. They also perform in a minimum of four concerts a year (two concerts during the school day and two evening concerts). Chorus is a fun way to learn the importance of working as a group. In a chorus, every single student is on the “starting team.” There are no bench warmers!

Band
The instrumental music program at Tobyhanna Elementary Center is an elective class available to fifth and sixth-grade students. Students participate in a screening process in the spring of their fourth-grade year to select the instrument. The lessons begin in the fall of their fifth-grade year. Students are instructed in small group lessons on brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. The student receives one 45-minute lesson each six-day cycle.
In January, the students form the Beginning Band. The Beginning Band rehearses 45 minutes once per six-day cycle. The Beginning Band performs a Spring Concert at the Tobyhanna Elementary Center in May.
Students are excited about being able to continue instrumental music in sixth grade. The more experienced musicians attend small group lessons for 45 minutes once per six-day cycle. To prepare for both winter and spring performances, the Concert Band rehearses for 45 minutes once per six-day cycle. For more information, contact Mr. Raboci.
