Program Expectations:
The WHS Panther Chess program is designed to let students develop their playing skills in chess and to experience competition associated with higher levels of play. Students compete according to EPC rules and USFC game standards. There are 7 Varsity Boards and 5 Junior Varsity Boards. New to the 2021 season is the adoption of virtual match play through Lichess-based environment.
Off-season program:
Pre-season practice begins in October.
