Here are your announcements for Wednesday, Jan. 15th

Hey students:  just a friendly reminder to do your SEL wellness check-ins EACH DAY during homeroom!

 

All of Mrs. Marrazzo’s classes should report to the library.

 

With one week left in the  second quarter, the following homerooms are in the lead for the quarter and to have a movie  in the multi-purpose room

7th grade

1st place - still holding on with 295 points, Mrs. Paul's homeroom

2nd place - close behind with 275 points is the Marrazzo/Michalczyk team

3rd place at 265 Troiano/McDaniel Team

8th grade

1st place is Mrs. Miller's homeroom with 370 points

2nd place and closing in with 365 points is Mrs. Zurinkski's homeroom.

3rd place with 275 points is Ms. Stelacone's homeroom.

8th grade - Zurinski

 

The next SGA meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan 22nd.  Please sign up in 205 to attend!!

 

Herren Project Club will be staying after school today, Wednesday, January 15th in room B213.

 

WJHS Science Olympiad team will be meeting every day this week after school in room 259 at WHS to prepare for our SOAPS Invitational, which is being held on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Please remember to bring signed permission slips and any binders or materials.

If you would like to join Science Olympiad, please contact Mrs. Krystal at lunchtime!

 

The West Junior High Dance club will begin NEXT Tuesday, January 21st after school.

We are still accepting students. Dance club will work closely with High School students to create routines similar to those on TikTok, reality dance shows and choreography to movies such as Wicked. Please see Ms. A-Y in the chorus room for an application!

 

Chess and Games club will meet again on Tuesday, Jan. 21st after school in the library.

 

WJHS crew neck sweatshirts are still being sold for only $10.00!  If you want to purchase one, please go to room B349 during homeroom.  Students are limited to only 1 sweatshirt.  

 

The library is open all day and even for students to visit during their lunch periods! Students MUST sign up by 9AM using the Google Form on the school website under SCHOOL NEWS.  

 

Students are reminded to use their Chromebook cases to protect their Chromebook from accidental drops and damage.  FYI:  the district charges $50.00 to replace a broken screen.

 

The daily deadline to borrow a Chromebook or charger is 9AM sharp.  Please remember that 3 borrows = an after school detention.  

 

ALL technology that is borrowed for the day MUST be returned NO LATER than 2PM.

 

The WJHS Food Pantry offers free meals and snacks to WJHS students and their families.  Pantry Pass out is each Thursday during 9th period in room B341.  You must sign up before 8AM each Thursday. The Pantry also has winter coats for students who may need them, too!

 

Any student who would like to submit a birthday shoutout for themselves or another student, please submit your request at our school website.  Look under “School News” for the link.  All requests must be submitted at least ONE DAY in advance.
