Student Government Association, otherwise known as SGA, is one of the many clubs offered to all of our students here at the West Junior High School. Students participate in fund raisers, sponsor school dances, organize the Holiday Food Drive and distribute collected canned goods to families in need. This year, we will hold a Carnation Sale for Valentine’s Day to raise money for Cancer Awareness, and sponsor the annual ninth grade Semi Formal dance at the end of the school year. This past year, our members had an opportunity to meet with the Director of Chartwells and discussed ways to improve their health and physical well-being. They also shared new ideas for possible snacks to purchase in the café. The West High School’s Student Council also invites our members to help out at some of their events. In previous years, our members worked at their annual Powder Puff Game. Overall, SGA is a great way for students to get involved in school activities, share ideas and socialize with their peers.
The advisor for SGA is Mrs. Flannery.
