A Letter from the Principal
Welcome to Swiftwater Intermediate School. We are glad you are here to visit, as we are very proud of our school. The mission of the Pocono Mountain School District is to “Prepare all students for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.” In order to do this, the district provides a rigorous curriculum to meet Pennsylvania state standards and intensive staff development for our teachers and administrators. It is our goal that our students are proficient and become lifelong learners.
Swiftwater Intermediate School is a school where staff and students excel, parents and community care. Our staff is dedicated to helping Swiftwater Intermediate students become good citizens through our "PRIDE" Program (Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Dependable, Empathetic). SIS teachers are committed to delivering an outstanding academic program which provides all students the opportunity to learn and develop their skills to the fullest potential.
We encourage parents to contact teachers, counselors, and the principals when a need exists. We look forward to working closely with parents for the benefit of children. Parents are a crucial link to the success of any education program.
The new school year promises to offer many opportunities and challenges. We wish all of our parents and students a very successful year for learning.
Thank you for visiting our website and please continue to explore our page throughout the upcoming school year.
Mrs. Kristine M. Kunsman, Principal
