To be a PRIDE Ambassador, students must demonstrate leadership skills, keep up with their school work and demonstrate our school-wide expectations of being Prepared, Respectful, Involved, Dependable, and Empathetic. Fifth and sixth grade students can submit an application if they are interested in being a PRIDE Ambassador. Students are chosen based on teacher recommendation, administrator review, and their application. Pride Ambassadors meet every Wednesday morning before school. They set up and run the Pride store. They write articles for the PRIDE newsletter. They give new student tours. They assist the PTO with various activities such as delivering treats for PSSA week. They help to promote and help with PRIDE events, such as dances, Minute to Win it, after-school activities, and the Pride Carnival. They make posters and make announcements in homerooms to let everyone what is happening at SIS.
