The Pennsylvania Department of Education revised its Strategic Plan process and format in 2011 and developed the new Comprehensive Plan Model for use by school districts throughout the Commonwealth. The Pocono Mountain School District Comprehensive Plan dated 2021 through 2024, is a collaborative effort between students, parents, staff, administration, the School Board, and the community of the District. These groups provided survey input, participated in meetings, analyzed data, and formulated a plan to guide our continuous improvement efforts, to identify future goals, and to improve educational opportunities and achievement for all students.
This new plan was driven by a very structured process and is supported by an on-line data entry tool that included District-level guiding questions. The District-level team used the answers to those questions to identify the District's accomplishments and systemic challenges. The systemic challenges were then used to generate the goals, strategies, and action plans that will guide the District for the next three years.
