The tax collectors are responsible for collecting the school taxes and remitting them to the District. In addition, the tax collectors are responsible for providing information regarding whether or not a property owner's current year taxes were paid, preparing tax certifications and tax duplicate bills.
Taxpayers, Abstract Companies and Mortgage Companies can request information regarding whether or not a certain parcel's current year taxes were paid from the municipal tax collectors.

These installments are due on or before the following dates: First Installment August 31 Second Installment October 31 Third Installment December 31
The discount (two percent) is not applicable to the installment payments; however, the penalty (ten percent) will be added if second and third installments are paid subsequent to the due dates.
All taxes not collected will be turned over to the Monroe County Tax Claim Bureau. Arrangements must be made with the Monroe County Tax Claim Bureau for payment of all tax payments after December 31.

The amount due for school taxes is calculated as follows:
Current Year Millage Rate = 20.35/1000
School Tax = Assessed Value of Property x Current Year Millage Rate
School Tax = $100,000 x .002035
School Tax = $2,035.00
2% Discount period: (Amount due if paid between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30): $1,994.30
Base period: (Amount due if paid between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30): $2,035.00
10% Penalty period: (Amount due if paid between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31): $2,238.50
